Hi guys Again,

yup yup, here it goes, couldn be that long i guess. Theme party was quite a great success. Problem is unavoidable in our first class event, however, coming to see our classmates working together feels like.... HEAVEN... once more. hmm, one or two things kinda tarnish the whole experience there. Yet its cool as a whole. *everyone nods


Our theme party was based on a hospital, where Doctors, nurse, and even Uh patient?? ventures in it as a service staff. Customers, well, of course were family and/or friends of us. therefore, we can foresee a higher tolerant lvl from these customers.

hmm, the mood from each of us varies before, during and after service. It is almost indescrible, but our main objective is to satisfy our guest with any possible service we could provide (F&B related stuff ONLI) . Role-playing kinda did it, didn watch much but many guest were laughing... haha... took a peep onli at the taxi driving part, and when jey walk in to rescue, hmm... i laughed too..

Hazard in Conrad/ Service we provide


Get down to work immediately after my birthday. Filed with anxiety initially, but was tamper later. A normal day it was on monday, sunset came and we're prepared for Conrad service, opposite suntec. Four star hotel, and it looks damn grand. we as SHATEC student followed instruction given by the staff from conrad and get down to business, haha, including representing them... Thats cool... At least for the first time, its NOT abt SHATEC....


It didn went well though, we were beginners after all. Abt 300 guest, most of them went managers from most of the F&B industries since this was a F&B operation event. And ppl holding key position are hard to handle, cos who care abt us. Luckily, many were not and even some managers have model-like faces...Especially one which... (Argh, nvm abt that, dun wan to bring u all to the wrong side of story, hahahz)

My job was to help my sponsor (Carlsberg) in promoting their drink. Therefore, carrying 3 bottles on a tray at a time, my job was to ask the guest for a drink...hmm... guess its easy... Its not k?
DAmn shitty, holding for merel 5min, my hand tremble as if there an 5 degree earthquake, in the end, it falls. In the centre of attraction, i grab hold of all the bottle with a great hug. There it goes, all drink on my shirt, Luckily, casualties not involved. Shame on mi, but i continued.


this time round, hed advice from OM(operational manager), i took 2, one holding the tray and the other hand which acts as a foundation to the bottle's base. It work rather well, till the moment guest went to ballroom when the event is going to start. now, we were told to promote it inside. WTH, squeak in betwwen guest's seats??? argh... there it goes again, bottle falls under my hug..


Ha, this the worse, now with only 1 bottle on tray. predicting no embrassment is going to come my way. No More...! rather unpredictable, while changing bottle for guest, while streching to reach the bottle for changing, the tray drops, not in time to grab. it pours onto the male guest, OH Shit, GOD, I SweaR i will never ever do this again for that nite...i am SPEECHLESS... how worse could it get... I so felt sorry but its the fact... i didn feel like crying, i place anger on my slef for being nervous, careless and reckless. All i could think of, was the guest, how is he doing... I was in no time for service recovery cos i think its helpless. Manager came and told mi to get a new chair... freak out for a while cos i dun even know a nut abt this hotel, so where do i get that chair, ran ard ... finally....

The male guest was not angry, rather relieve but i am taking no chance in forgiving myself. they are here for fun, joy, entertainment, and this big sized human came and made a mess to the whole event. I felt useless yet wat can i do more for the hotel. I felt the pride working here, such an indecent disgrace... Morale down to Zero, i stopped serving. stood outside the ballroom, and help with technical stuff. Anyway, the ony great time i had is ....

1) Looking at hot guys - and there is ONE, even all str8 guys placed eye on this Caucasian guest
2) Got a name card from a Director of a F&B restaurant from Royal Place hotel on Scotts
3) chatting away at beer booth while most of our classmates were involve in food servicing.
4) the pride i had working there, and some pics taken.....

Not much of a pix, cos we are not encourage to do photography in the ballroom, even before service. After service was rather cropped up. the ballroom was grand, theme for the day was 'BROADWAY". Rather old fashion by made with much entertainment.. great performance by them, organised, great team work i see. haha... in actual fact, i didn even watch any of the performance, just took a glance and off to work. but the guest were enjoying themselve... especially Lucky draws ?? well... all i know i did a rather bad job.... Keep it up, WS... hai...
